On 23 November 2010 the Hungarian Contarex/Kiskújszállás plant hosted an event celebrating 50 years of ongoing supplier relations between Claas and Präzi-Flachstahl AG. The group of companies was originally founded in 1904 and acquired by Günther and Walter Claas in 1955. Today, the group is owned by the Günther Claas family.
The Präzi Group is a conglomerate of the supplier industry. With approx. 600 employees at 6 locations in 4 countries in Western and Central Europe, the company caters to 5 product areas. These are:
· Precision flat steel
· Wear parts for the sand-lime brick and concrete industry
· Materials handling technology
· Biogas
· Rotating assemblies for the agricultural machinery industry
At first, only worm threads were manufactured for the production of combine harvesters. Later the company began producing crop lifters, feed rolls and complete feed screws.
Due to the steadily rising pressure of competition, manufactuing of assemblies was relocated from Bohmte (near Osnabrück) to the Contarex Agrotechnika K.f.t. plant in Hungary in 2000.
This plant was acquired from the Mezögep, Szolnok Group in 1995 and then continuously developed in the following years to meet the requirements of West European customers. Contarex was one of the first suppliers in Central Europe to implement the logistics concept for just in time delivery. Today, welded components made by Contarex can be found in every combine harvester and forage harvester.
